What’s holding you back from being happy in life?

Looking back, almost everyday I can remember there were people in my life, or people I noticed that could be living such a better quality of life and it bothers me to no end. I feel this pull to try and open people’s eyes into how their lives could improve; how I could help them, but 99% of the time people are not open to receive help because they don’t understand that they do have choices, they can choose to make a change in their lives for the better. There are far too many people unhappy in the world, too stressed out, knowing deep down that they want to change, but the reality is, they’re stuck and afraid of change and this goes for the people who are struggling because of debt, or the billionaires who have everything except true happiness.. There are opportunities everyday in your life and learning to see them and identify them and then take action on them is what separates happy people from unhappy people.

What can you do today that will bring you closer to living a happy life? And here’s some help: THINK BIGGER THAN MONEY. If you had all the money in the world, let’s say 10 years into having all the money in the world, after you’ve gotten the need to spend out of your system; what would make you happy? Better relationships? Everyday is an opportunity to meet new people to find better relationships. What type of person will make you happier, where do you have to go, or what do you have to do to meet that type of person? Whatever it is for you, ask yourself: what can you do to make it a reality? You need to think about your future so that you break away from your consistent, unhappy, day to day mindset that isn’t fulfilling. Stress is a serious issue and not being happy, not living a fulfilling life will create stress. I’ve even read that living in a negative mindset can shorten your lifespan.

For me, what makes me happy is providing value to people who need it. Giving help or guidance to anyone who is unhappy in their life, or influencing people to make changes in their lives so they have a better future. Most of the time the answer comes shortly after they start believing that they can reach their goals, but there are a lot of people who aren’t open to change, unfortunately and for those types of people, I’m not the person to help them until they want to change. There will come a point in anyone’s life (if they’re not happy or fulfilled) where they will question what they’re doing, they’ll question their purpose and that’s where the potential for a change is in their life. This confusion, or lack of an answer is the same for people with nothing, or billionaires… They simply don’t know what will make them happy. That potential for a change is the most important thing they can pay attention to in their whole life because the outcome will either be on the path to happiness, or it’ll be the exact same path they’ve been living in for years. They will have a choice and it’s fascinating to me how many people will not make a choice to change, which is one of the worst choices they can possibly make in a mindset of wanting to find a purpose, or wanting to be happier.

When I came across the thoughts of what’s my purpose, I didn’t have an answer like most people, but I chose to change my life because of 1 simple thing; I realized if I didn’t change, I’d continue doing the same thing over and over, and that meant continuing to be unhappy, so I had very little to lose and happiness to gain. It became clearer and clearer what I needed to do everyday. It meant pay attention to opportunities in my life, identify and understand what I felt day to day and ultimately, shift my mindset into being more productive and more open to change and progression in my life.

I encourage you to be more open to positive change, it may not seem positive at first though, but more times than not, change equals great opportunity and a massive leap into a happier life.

You can’t change the past, but the future is what you create and one day, the future you’re thinking of will be your past! What can you do over the next few weeks to change the negative aspects of your life to improve your happiness? It starts with identifying what’s holding you back and making a change moving forward.

Here’s a list of some of the most common things that hold people back from living a more happy and fulfilling life:

Fear of failing
Unwillingness to change or the unwillingness to be open to new experiences
Lack of taking action
Drug abuse
Alcohol abuse
Smoking Cigarettes
Being overweight
Hanging out in a negative environment
Hanging out with negative people

Do any of those listed above apply to your own life? If so, the first step I would suggest to do is to tell someone in your life that you look up to about it. Tell them you’d like some help overcoming whatever it is you’re thinking about. Be honest, this is your life! They will be supportive and helpful with your mindset shift. Everything listed above can be changed by changing your mindset; the way you think about a situation.

Don’t let anything or anyone get in the way of you being happy!
